Dr. Laura Palmo has been practicing as a licensed clinical psychologist since 2013 and has worked in a variety of settings, including schools, day treatment programs, residential facilities, acute psychiatric units and private practice. She teaches a graduate level class at Niagara University. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Canisius College and her master’s and doctorate degrees from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology.
Dr. Palmo treats children, teenagers and adults presenting with a variety of emotional, behavioral, interpersonal and trauma- related symptoms. Dr. Palmo places great emphasis on the importance of positive relationships for overall well-being and strives to develop a collaborative relationship with each of her patients. She utilizes cognitive behavior therapy and dialectical behavior therapy techniques to meet treatment goals.
Dr. Palmo is currently training Levi, an English Labrador puppy, as a therapy dog to provide an additional sense of comfort and security during therapy sessions.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, watching and playing a variety of sports and spending time with family and friends.
